From October 2021, international cruise ships will be able to dock and call at the following ports in Ecuador: Esmeraldas, Manta, Guayaquil and Puerto Bolivar. However, there are strict guidelines and measures that must be followed to obtain the necessary permits.
If you have symptoms of COVID-19 on arrival, you may need to take a rapid antigen test. If the result is positive, you will be instructed to wear a mask, but self-isolation will no longer be mandatory. Entry requirements for Ecuador Insular - Galapagos Islands.
All visitors to the Galapagos Islands must meet the entry requirements for Ecuador. They must also present a copy of their hotel reservation upon entry, or a letter of invitation from a host if they are staying with a local resident. Domestic and foreign tourists must also present proof of a return flight and the Galapagos Transit Control Card, which must be completed online at least 24 hours prior to departure. Travel medical insurance is mandatory for foreign visitors. The maximum length of stay as a tourist in the Galapagos Islands is 60 days.
